Fall 2026 Charlotte Job Fairs and Hiring Events: Your Complete Guide

CHARLOTTE, NC — It has been a strange year in the Queen City labor market. Uptown landed a Japanese megabank promising 2,000 jobs, Plaza Midwood got a car company headquarters, and meanwhile Family Dollar closed a Matthews facility and put 373 people out of work. Both things are true at once. If you are the person holding the WARN letter rather than the press release, the fall hiring calendar matters more than the ribbon cuttings.

Eight job fairs and hiring events are on the Charlotte-area calendar between September 23 and November 18, 2026, and four of them have already taken place. All eight are in person, and each one is aimed at a different kind of candidate.

A word on the size of that list. Charlotte is the second-largest banking center in the country and the fall job-fair calendar here is thinner than you would expect for a metro of 2.8 million. Charlotte Works, the regional workforce board, had nothing posted past mid-September when we first checked; its November 5 veterans event has since gone up. The campus fairs at UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont are gated to their own students. What survived verification is what is below, and every one of these events was confirmed on the organizer's own website, not on a ticketing aggregator.

Charlotte Career Fair — Wednesday, September 23

6:00 p.m. | Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte/Concord, 7831 Gateway Ln NW, Concord, NC 28027

This event has passed.

This one was different from the others in three ways. It ran in the evening, not midday, for people job hunting while still employed. It was in Concord, in Cabarrus County, a few minutes from Concord Mills and the Speedway rather than anywhere inside Mecklenburg. And it was narrow: United Career Fairs ran it as a sales and sales management event, recruiting for outside sales, inside sales, account managers, account executives, branch and sales managers, business development and retail management, with company presentations first and then face-to-face time with the hiring managers. Transit Management of Charlotte (CATS) Hiring Event — Thursday, October 1

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Charlotte Career & Employment Center, 5301 Wilkinson Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28208

This event has passed.

Transit Management of Charlotte, the company that staffs and runs CATS bus service, is hiring face to face at Goodwill's career center on the west side, between uptown and the airport. This one is a single-employer hiring event, not a general fair, and it has a two-step rule: apply online with Transit Management of Charlotte first, then register for the event through Goodwill's event page. Every candidate must pass a background check, and some positions require an endorsed CDL, so read each posting before you pick one. Pay isn't listed on the event page. Macy's Holiday Hiring Day — Thursday, October 22

This event has passed.

Macy's national holiday hiring day ran at both Charlotte stores: SouthPark on Sharon Road for Myers Park, Cotswold and Quail Hollow, and Northlake off I-77 near I-485 for University City, Derita, Huntersville and Mountain Island. It was walk-in for seasonal store work, and you can still apply at macysJOBS. Store numbers: SouthPark (704) 365-1000, Northlake (704) 599-8137. Charlotte isn't on Macy's list of top hiring markets this year and no local headcount has been published, so treat it as steady seasonal hiring. Givens Aldersgate Hiring Event — Monday, October 26

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Charlotte Career & Employment Center, 5301 Wilkinson Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28208

This event has passed.

One employer, four kinds of work. Givens Aldersgate, the retirement community on Shamrock Drive in east Charlotte, recruited transportation drivers, home care staff, security officers and housekeepers at Goodwill's west side career center, the same building that hosted the CATS event. Veteran Appreciation Day Hiring Event — Thursday, November 5

9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | NCWorks Career Center, 8601 McAlpine Park Drive, Charlotte, NC 28211

The week before Veterans Day, the NCWorks Career Center in east Charlotte, a few minutes off Independence Boulevard, hosts a hiring event built around people who served. The Charlotte Works listing files it for the general public as well as career seekers, but a secondary listing describes a veterans-only block from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., so non-veterans should call before showing up early. No employer list or job counts have been posted. Bring your DD-214 if you want veteran priority of service, and call NCWorks Charlotte at 704-501-3538 with questions about timing or registration. Charlotte Career Fair — Thursday, November 5

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Ayrsley, 1917 Ayrsley Town Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273

Back to a general-audience format. Ayrsley sits in southwest Charlotte off South Tryon, close enough to I-485 and Steele Creek that it pulls from Pineville, Rivergate and the airport corridor as easily as it does from uptown. Choice Career Fairs puts hiring decision-makers in a hotel ballroom for three hours in the middle of a Thursday, and admission is free whether or not you sign up ahead. Registering gets you a VIP pass and a faster walk through the door, which on a busy fair is worth the two minutes it takes. The employer roster for this date has not been published yet, so go in treating it as a general fair rather than an industry one, and check the page again the week before. TTEC Hiring Information Session — Thursday, November 12

1:30 – 3:30 p.m. | Charlotte Career & Employment Center, 5301 Wilkinson Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28208

Back on Wilkinson Boulevard at Goodwill's west side center, TTEC runs a two-hour afternoon session on its openings and how its hiring process works. Goodwill's listing does not name roles or a headcount, but TTEC's own current Charlotte posting, an onsite Customer Service Representative, Financial Services job, lists a $19 an hour base wage and asks for at least a year of customer service experience, a high school diploma or equivalent and solid computer skills. Charlotte Job Fair — Wednesday, November 18

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Hilton Charlotte University Place, 8629 J M Keynes Drive, Charlotte, NC 28262

The last confirmed fair of the fall, and the best-placed one if you live on the north side. University Place is right off Harris Boulevard near the UNC Charlotte campus and the I-85 interchange, and the Blue Line runs out that way, which makes this one easy to reach without a car. Best Hire Career Fairs runs a standard three-hour open-floor event, free for job seekers.   • No employer list is published for the November job fairs. Organizers add logos as companies commit. Nobody is promising you a specific employer will be there.
  • Don't expect an offer on the spot. Expect screening conversations and follow-up interviews, not an offer letter in the parking lot.

Nothing else is on the calendar until the two November 5 events. These are not job fairs and we are not going to call them that, but they are free, they are local, and a resume that has been through one of these sessions performs better on the ballroom floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do any of these Charlotte job fairs cost money?

No. The Ayrsley and University Place fairs are free for job seekers, and the veterans event lists no fee. Organizers charge the employers who rent a table, not the people walking in. If a Charlotte job fair ever asks you for an entry fee, walk away.

Do I have to register in advance?

For the November events, registering helps: the November 5 Ayrsley fair gives registered attendees a VIP pass for faster entry, Goodwill asks you to reserve a spot for the November 12 TTEC session, the November 18 organizer asks job seekers to sign up first, and for the November 5 veterans event, ask NCWorks at 704-501-3538.

Why is this list so short?

Because these are all that could be confirmed on an organizer's own website. Several Charlotte career fairs circulating on ticketing sites for October do not appear on the calendars of the companies supposedly running them, so they are not here. We would rather publish a short list you can trust than a long one that sends you to a locked hotel ballroom.

Are the UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont career fairs open to the public?

Generally no. Both schools run their fall recruiting through their own students and alumni platforms, and employers pay to meet those students specifically. If you are enrolled at either school, use them — they are the deepest employer rooms in the city. If you are not, they are not an option.

What should I wear and bring?

Business casual at minimum. Bring ten to fifteen printed resumes to any of them, a photo ID, and any certifications or licenses in a folder rather than on your phone. Hotel wifi at a career fair is always worse than you expect.

Is this guide kept up to date?

Yes. Fall calendars move — organizers add dates, change venues and occasionally cancel with little notice. We update this page as new Charlotte-area events are confirmed and pull the ones that fall through. Always confirm with the organizer before you drive.
