What Macy's Announced for the 2026 Holiday Season

Macy's, Inc. laid out its season in a September 24 holiday hiring announcement. The company is hiring seasonal workers across its Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury stores and select supply chain sites, with in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19. Macy's says event times vary by location.

Here's the honest part. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its stores this year, and Charlotte isn't one of them. The hiring days still run nationwide, and both Charlotte stores are open and staffing for the season. Macy's has not published a headcount for either store or for the Charlotte region, and we won't guess at one.

🗺️ Two Stores, Two Sides of Town

SouthPark. The south Charlotte store sits inside SouthPark Mall at 4400 Sharon Rd., an easy trip from Myers Park, Cotswold and Quail Hollow, and a short drive up Sharon Road from the south end of the county. Call (704) 365-1000 to ask what hours the store is running on October 22.

Northlake. The north Charlotte store anchors Northlake Mall at 6845 Northlake Mall Dr., just off I-77 near I-485. It's the closer pick for job seekers in University City, Derita, Huntersville and Mountain Island. Call (704) 599-8137 before you head over.

And on Wednesday, November 18, a free job fair comes to the Hilton at University Place in University City.

💵 What It Pays and What Comes With It

Macy's says every job posting lists its pay range, so you see the number before you apply. The company lists colleague discounts, 401(k) savings, access to earned wages before payday and an employee assistance program among its benefits, with medical, dental and vision coverage based on eligibility.

📋 How to Show Up Ready on Oct. 22

Apply online before you go.
Bring photo ID. If you're hired, you'll fill out work-authorization paperwork.
Know your availability. Nights, weekends and the days around Thanksgiving are what holiday retail runs on.
